Outreach and World Missions

Local outreach includes visits to local apartments, connecting with community events, friendship evangelism and various social networking events.

We also participate in short term missions trips, such as construction trips to Guatemala, the Congo, and Baja Mexico as well as clean up efforts after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  We have also supported Project Rescue with short term trips to India.

In addition to a financial faith promise, Pastor Burns encourages his congregation to do "something extreme for missions" at least once a year. The Pastor has done this with his running. He has run marathons and ultramarathons to raise money for missions projects all over the world. Everyone has something they can do to help support our missionaries around the world.

Motion for Missons

This program is a way for our church to bring new meaning and focus to our personal fitness goals as well as support missions all over the world.  Our goal is 100 percent participation and includes a health faith promise in the form of Motion for Missions.  Participants are encouraged to pick a goal such as their first 5K, 10K or marathon and work toward that goal. All exercise is counted in our community effort to reach the Philippines.  As of July 2008 our combined mileage is 5731.35.
